Rules, Terms and Conditions
Stuff you must agree to before you make your bid for that 20 grand.
Rules
- Your story must be your own, original, unaided work.
- Your story must be in English. (Writers in other Indian languages, hang on a bit, please? There’s more coming up soon.)
- Word limit: Not more than 500 words, including the title, if you choose to use one.
- Your story must not have been published anywhere, in print or online. (We interpret “published” to mean that there was some form of editorial or jury selection and/or payment involved. So work that appeared on a personal blog or unmoderated forum is okay. Something entered for a contest, which could have won you a prize somewhere, is not a valid entry. Something that you have submitted to an editor that was selected to appear in print or online is “published,” whether you got paid for it or not, and therefore is not allowed.)
- Multiple entries are okay. Do not duplicate entries, however. We will delete all copies of your entry from the system if you flood it.
- There is no entry fee, and you don’t have to buy anything to enter.
